Welcome!

This database of wildfire prevention materials was developed by fire prevention education teams (FPET) and wildfire prevention professionals. Each item was reviewed for appropriate content, is accessible according to the standards of Section 508, and is approved for use by the NWCG Communication, Education and Prevention Committee (CEPC) as posted.

Individual agency rules and guidelines must be adhered to when any of these materials are used locally. Modifications to the materials as posted might affect their accessibility. Please see Standard Operating Procedures, FPET Digital Library Reviewers.

The FPET Digital Library is a sortable catalog available for use by anyone. The database includes materials organized by fire cause and file type (e.g., slide show, printable item, sign, handout, etc.).

To begin, make selections from the dropdown menus then press FILTER. Review the products/materials in the search results. Select an item for additional information. All items are in ZIP files and need to be downloaded and opened for use. Access to this database is download only.

The updated NWCG Standards for Wildland Fire Chainsaw Operations, PMS 212, and NWCG Position Task Book for Basic Faller (FAL3), PMS 311-19 are now available.

The NWCG Standards for Wildland Fire Chainsaw Operations, PMS 212 includes position standards designed to be used in conjunction with the Next Generation Position Task Book (Next Gen PTB). The Next Gen PTB for Basic Faller (FAL3) includes an evaluation guide with suggested rating elements to consider when assessing trainees.

The Risk Management Committee (RMC) serves as the position steward for all Safety Officer incident positions and continues to improve position standards, training, and naming conventions. The implementation of Complex Incident Management (CIM) required changes to position titles. RMC collaborated with the NWCG Incident Position Standards Committee (IPSC) to propose and implement these updates.
