Product Description
The Facilities Map shows the layout of the incident facilities at the Incident Command Post (ICP) or Incident Base/Camp and is included in the Incident Action Plan.
Target Audience
All incident personnel, Logistics Section.
Guidelines
- Simple fonts and symbols for non-ICS features such as roads.
- Simplified base map to enable clear communication. Orthoimagery may be used.
- Extent and map content is based on facilities supporting the incident, such as ICP or Incident Base/Camp, the Situation Unit Leader (SITL) will provide guidance.
- Size varies, but generally 8.5” x 11” if included in the Incident Action Plan.
Standard Elements
All map products produced should include the STANDL-SGD cartographic elements.
Data
- No Event Data.
- Labeled operating locations of ICS functional areas and individuals (Check-in, Supply, Ground Support, ITSS, Medical Unit, Situation Unit, etc.).
- Labeled locations for areas/services needed by incident resources, including but not limited to: Briefing area, Camping, Caterer, Laundry, Parking, and Showers.
- Other Situation Unit Leader (SITL)-requested data such as Traffic Flow indicators.
Examples
These are examples from actual incidents and may include non-standard elements.
Also note that examples use the standard symbols at the time of their creation and may not reflect the current GeoOps symbology. Map elements, incident features, and composition remain consistent across these visual changes.
